Position Summary : The Supplier Quality Manager will oversee the design, implementation, monitoring, performance assessment, and continuous improvement of External Operation systems across all company-owned and influenced manufacturing facilities worldwide. The position shall set and enforce standards, align global practices with regulatory and customer requirements, and promote unified standards within the Supply Chain Organization.
Position open to: Spain, France, Turkey, and Romania
Objective of the Position : Establish strategies to ensure the implementation of GB & BQ Supplier Management Standards. Define and liaise with BQ AOW & Countries on policies, programs, and procedures related to food quality and safety for Supplier Management. Support markets with risk assessments and testing plans for incoming raw materials. Resolve global and local supplier complaints regarding quality, food safety, and regulatory issues. Support approval, development, performance metrics, and certification programs for suppliers of ingredients and packaging materials from a quality and food safety perspective. Collaborate with global and regional supply chain management teams to prioritize alternative supplier development for contingency planning, ensuring continuous supply and competitive service and cost. Coach suppliers for continuous improvement. Lead and organize food quality and safety audits for suppliers, monitor global supplier progress, and report on supplier performance. Work closely with AOWs & Countries’ External Operations, Procurement, and R&D to maintain the safety of new and existing ingredients.
Co-Manufacturing Management : Develop strategies to implement GB & BQ co-manufacturing standards. Support the development of food safety and quality programs for co-manufacturing. Define service agreements in contracts with co-manufacturers, including quality, safety, and legality responsibilities. Establish controls on co-manufacturing performance through product qualification, audits, follow-ups, and supervision. Define KPIs for evaluation, feedback, and decision-making. Monitor co-manufacturer progress and report regularly.
Quality in Logistics, Transportation, and Reverse Logistics : Develop strategies to ensure quality and safety standards in storage and transportation of finished products. Oversee the selection, approval, and monitoring of warehouses and transport operators, including developing service-level agreements. Implement evaluation systems for warehouses and transport, including findings, action plans, and continuous improvement. Establish KPIs to evaluate quality and safety in warehouses and transports. Monitor transport provider progress and report regularly.
IT Tool Management : Ensure full implementation and maintenance of Tracegains Software at BQ. Organize ongoing user training for partners and the External Operations Team.
Development & Training : Develop and deliver training on Quality & Food Safety expectations for internal departments and partners. Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes. Collaborate with Grupo Bimbo External Operations representatives. Facilitate global knowledge sharing, best practices, and harmonized procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Management.
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture, Food Technology, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred). Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in Supplier Management, Food Safety & Quality, including multi-site or international scope—preferably in baked goods or food manufacturing. Expertise in Supply Chain & Export/Import Regulations and standards.
Travel : International travel required (20–40%).
