The Web Accessibility Specialist ensures that Schneider Electric's websites and digital products deliver an inclusive, barrier-free experience for all users, including people with disabilities. This role leads accessibility audits, drives adoption of WCAG standards, advises cross-functional teams, and promotes a culture of inclusive design across the organization. The specialist collaborates with designers, developers, product managers, and content creators to embed accessibility throughout the digital lifecycle.

Responsibilities
\n
Accessibility Strategy & Governance: Develop, maintain, and promote accessibility strategies, standards, and implementation guidelines across digital teams.
\n
Integrate accessibility requirements into design, development, testing, and release processes.
\n
Establish governance models, checkpoints, and documentation to ensure consistent compliance with accessibility expectations.
\n
Audits, Testing & Quality Assurance
\n
Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of websites and digital products to identify barriers, WCAG violations, and usability issues.
\n
Perform manual testing using assistive technologies such as screen readers.
\n
Use automated auditing tools and manual techniques to validate accessibility fixes and verify compliance with WCAG standards.
\n
Deliver clear, actionable remediation recommendations to design, engineering, and product teams.
\n
Training, Enablement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
\n
Provide training and coaching to designers, developers, and content creators on accessibility best practices.
\n
Guide teams through accessible design and development techniques.
\n
Partner with project managers and product owners to ensure accessibility is prioritized within delivery schedules.
\n
Compliance, Standards & Documentation
\n
Ensure compliance with WCAG, ADA, Section 508, and EU Web Accessibility Directive requirements.
\n
Maintain and update accessibility documentation, standards, and internal guidelines.
\n
Produce regular reports on accessibility performance, compliance levels, and progress on remediation activities.
\n
User Engagement & Continuous Improvement
\n
Gather and analyze feedback from users with disabilities to inform accessibility improvements.
\n
Advocate for user-centered design and the integration of accessibility considerations early in the design process.
\n
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for broader adoption of inclusive design.

Requirements & Qualifications
\n
Strong knowledge of web accessibility standards, including WCAG * and related global regulations (ADA, Section 508, EU Directive).
\n
Experience conducting accessibility audits using automated tools and manual assistive technologies.
\n
Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how they affect accessibility.
\n
Understanding of usability principles and user-centered design.
\n
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
\n
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
\n
Strong written and spoken English.
\n
Accessibility certifications such as CPACC or WAS are a plus.
\n
Promote accessibility awareness and champion inclusive design practices across the organization.
\n
Help foster a culture where accessible, high-quality user experiences are a shared responsibility across all teams.
