Offer Description
Our goal is to understand the molecular mechanisms that drive cell-cell communication in aggressive childhood cancers, with a specific focus on the role of the UNC5 interaction network in the pathogenesis of neuroblastoma (NB) and other pediatric tumours. We will employ a multidisciplinary approach, encompassing cell-based assays, profiling experiments (eg. high resolution mass spectrometry proteomics), and structure-based tools to target specific protein complexes in vitro and in vivo. This is a collaborative ERC Synergy project with other labs from the University of Oxford and Lyon.
The candidate will join Daniel del Toro's lab, which comprises three PhD students and is supported by one technician, along with rotating students. The lab is located in the Biomedicine Department at the Faculty of Medicine (Campus Clinic) of the University of Barcelona.

Hold a PhD in Neurodevelopment or cancer biology or a closely related research field.
Specific Requirements
* Experience in molecular biology, omics techniques and cell culture. Proteomic experience is a plus.
* Proficient with processing tissue samples, including sample preparation, use of cryostat or vibratome, and immunofluorescence staining.
* Experience in imaging acquisition and analysis (e.g., ImageJ, Cell Profiler).
* Familiar with the analysis of omics data (e.g. R, Python)
* Experience with animal experimentation,expertise in in utero electroporation is a plus.
* Excellent English skills in speaking, writing, and presenting scientific data.
* Interest in working within a collaborative network
* Certificate of knowledge or completion of training in Animal Handling for Medical Experiments according to the Order ECC 566/2015 to perform the following functions: a) care of mice and b) euthanasia of mice

Eligibility criteria
A specific committee will evaluate and shortlist the applications using the following criteria:
* Adequacy of the CV (maximum 50)
* Experience in the field (maximum 20)
* Suitability for the tasks to be performed within the framework of the research project or research support position to which the successful candidate will be attached (maximum 30)
Minimum score to pass the selection process: 70/100 points.
