The role
This is our first dedicated commercial hire — the person who puts Exalit in front of new customers and keeps them coming back. You'll open the doors, present what we do, look after client relationships, and help turn enquiries into quotations alongside our technical team. You report to the Operations Manager, with the freedom to run your own outreach and the wider team behind you.
What you'll do
* Reach out to new customers across the offshore energy and marine market — research, outreach, and opening the conversation.
* Present Exalit and what we do — clearly, credibly, and in person where it counts.
* Build and look after client relationships — turn first contact into trust, and one-off jobs into repeat work.
* Travel to meet customers — site and vessel visits, port calls, industry events. Expect 30–50% travel.
* When requests for quotation (RFQs) come in, help prepare the quotations together with our technical and operations team.
* Keep your pipeline organised and your activity visible, working to clear sales targets.
* Read the market and feed back what you see — where the work is, and where we can win.
What we're looking for
* Proven business-to-business (B2B) sales / business development (BD) experience in marine, offshore, marine services, shipyards or adjacent technical fields.
* A track record you can show in numbers — new customers won, relationships kept, targets met.
* Equally strong at opening new doors and keeping existing ones open.
* Comfortable getting involved in quotations — reading a scope and working with the team to put a proposal together (you don't need to be an estimator).
* Ready to travel and meet customers where they are (30–50%).
* Self-driven and organised, working to clear sales targets with light supervision.
* Clear, confident communication in English.
* Right to work in the European Union (EU).
Good to have
* An existing network in the offshore energy and marine industry.
* A working grasp of how marine and offshore scopes are priced and contracted — variation orders, lump-sum vs reimbursable.
* Spanish, Russian, English or other languages used across European maritime hubs.
