Offer Description
Two PhD positions in the field of heterogeneous catalysts within a joint research project between the Instituto de Tecnología Química (CSIC-UPV), the Synchrotron ALBA, and the Structure and Chemistry of Nanomaterials Group at Universidad de Cádiz.
One PhD will be supervised by Dr. P. Concepción from the Instituto de Tecnología Química and Dr. L. Simonelli. The focus will be on developing highly active and selective catalysts for CO2 activation and transformation into alcohols, utilizing catalytic and spectroscopic studies.
The other PhD will be supervised by Dr. P. Concepción and Prof. J.J. Calvino. This project aims to develop and study catalysts containing single atoms, dimers, or clusters for CO2 activation, employing electron microscopy and AI tools for data analysis.
The participating institutions are leaders in catalysis and nanostructured materials, equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure for advanced research in spectroscopy and microscopy.
The candidates will be mentored by experts in heterogeneous catalysis, involved in synthesis, kinetic studies, and advanced operando spectroscopic analysis, with access to top-tier facilities.
Requirements include a degree in chemistry or chemical engineering, a university grade above 7, high proficiency in English, motivation for research, responsibility, and analytical skills.
