The EU Employee Relations Manager oversees the European Work Council process, our Employee Relations (ER) project & policies control system, and our total reward strategy across Operations EU. This role is part of the Employee Experience and Relations (EXR) team and reports directly to the EU EXR Risk, Project & Compliance leader. It requires close collaboration with stakeholders across functions, business lines, and countries to ensure effective ER strategy execution. The role enhances EXR effectiveness, contributes to business agility, and improves the associate experience.
This position can be based in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, or the UK, with travel up to 30% within the EU.
Key Responsibilities
1. European Works Council (EWC) Management
* Lead preparation of EWC meetings across all functions, business lines, and countries.
* Coordinate the 2026 EWC election process as the pan-EU Single Threaded Leader.
* Participate in EWC and Select Committee meetings;
manage vendor relationships for logistics.
* Ensure Amazon's compliance with EWC directives, including gap analysis, strategy development for renegotiation or amendments, and supporting EWC negotiations.
1. Projects & Policies Coordination
* Oversee the EXR change management for projects and initiatives, promoting comprehensive intake, identifying process gaps, facilitating escalation, and providing updates for continuous improvement.
* Coordinate the HR policy journey across the EU as the primary EXR SME.
2. Compensation & Benefits Liaison
* Serve as the EU-wide contact for C&B challenges and opportunities, promoting our total reward proposition.
Qualifications
* University degree and experience in employee or labor relations, or labor/employment law, with a focus on labor.
* Knowledge of EU labor laws, especially related to European Works Councils.
* Experience managing complex projects within a matrix environment.
* Fluency in English (C2 level) and at least one other European language (French, Spanish, Italian, German).
* Experience in handling complex labor issues at the EU or pan-EU level.
* Change management and project coordination skills in a multinational environment.
* Understanding of EU compensation and benefits practices.
* Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing senior leadership.
* Ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous settings.
