Overview
We’re looking for a GIS Expert to support the development and maintenance of the ASAP system (Anomaly hotSpots of Agricultural Production), a key initiative led by the Joint Research Centre (JRC). This role is fully remote within Europe, working closely with international technical teams and partner institutions.
Responsibilities
* Develop, test, and maintain geospatial modules within the ASAP system.
* Configure and deploy ASAP systems for partner institutions.
* Design and manage local spatial information systems.
* Ensure interoperability across ASAP platforms.
* Provide GIS-related technical support to JRC experts.
* Coordinate updates and maintenance of the ASAP geospatial database.
Qualifications
* Education: Master’s degree (EQF Level 7), with at least 5 years of formal education.
* Minimum 7 years of professional experience in GIS, with proven autonomy in complex projects.
* Geospatial analysis of raster and vector data.
* Python-based geospatial data processing.
* Experience with spatial databases (PostgreSQL + PostGIS).
* Map publishing using Geoserver.
* Fluent English (minimum B2 level).
