Job DescriptionPosition Overview
The BESS Delivery & Service Manager / Engineer (Utility Scale) is responsible for the execution and lifecycle support of large-scale battery energy storage projects after the project is secured by the sales and presales teams. The role manages the technical delivery, commissioning, and operational support of utility-scale BESS projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Handover from Sales / Presales
o Take ownership of projects after commercial contract closure.
o Review project scope including:
+ System design
+ Grid requirements
+ Performance guarantees
+ Project schedules
o Align with customers and internal teams on project execution strategy.
* Project Execution & Delivery
o Manage the full lifecycle delivery of utility-scale BESS projects.
o Coordinate with EPC contractors, integrators, and equipment suppliers.
o Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
o Ensure compliance with technical specifications, grid requirements, and safety standards.
o Manage project risks and coordinate issue resolution.
* Commissioning & Grid Integration
o Oversee commissioning of utility-scale BESS including:
+ System energization
+ Grid compliance testing
+ Performance testing
o Work with grid operators and technical partners to complete system integration.
o Ensure successful handover to operations.
* Operations Support & Service Management
o Coordinate post-commissioning support and service activities.
o Manage long-term service plans and preventive maintenance.
o Monitor system performance and coordinate troubleshooting if needed.
o Interface with OEM technical teams for system diagnostics.
* Stakeholder Coordination
o Act as the primary technical contact between:
o Customers
o EPC contractors
o OEM suppliers
o Internal teams
o Ensure smooth communication and alignment across stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Engineering, or related field.
* 5–10 years experience in utility-scale renewable energy or power infrastructure projects.
* Experience with large-scale BESS, solar + storage, or grid infrastructure preferred.
* Strong understanding of:
o Grid integration
o Power systems
o Energy management systems
o High-voltage systems
Skills
* Strong project management and coordination skills
* Knowledge of grid compliance and power system integration
* Ability to manage multiple technical stakeholders
* Strong problem-solving ability
* Willingness to travel to project sites
