What you will do
* Take full ownership: Design, implement, and document complex requirements for our Kafka platform and its surrounding ecosystem.
* Apply deep expertise: Deploy, operate, optimize, and monitor modern integration systems—with a strong focus on Apache Kafka.
* Engineer with Go: Build internal tools, operational automation, and platform services using Go.
* Partner with teams: Collaborate closely with product teams and stakeholders in an agile environment.
* Go deep on operations: Handle second- and third-level support, troubleshoot issues, and perform in‑depth performance and capacity analyses.
* Act as a technical leader: Provide guidance on architecture, best practices, and Kafka administration to engineering and product teams.
* Stay ready: Participate in the on‑call rotation as part of operating a mission‑critical platform.
What you will bring
* Extensive knowledge of Kafka architecture (brokers, topics, partitions, replication, KRaft, controller quorum, and internal mechanics).
* Production experience installing, configuring, scaling, and operating Kafka clusters.
* Strong understanding of topic management, partitioning strategies, replication concepts, and performance tuning.
* Solid proficiency with Kafka CLI tools.
* Professional Go programming experience, ideally in platform engineering, backend services, infrastructure tooling, or automation.
