Position: I&C Controls Engineer
We are seeking an experienced TM2500, LM2500, and LM6000 I&C Controls Engineer to join Prismecs.
As an I&C Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operation of plant facilities and equipment.
Your responsibilities include ensuring control, electrical, and instrumentation requirements meet statutory standards and function properly.
This involves performance testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining connection with other technicians and software calibration.
The engineer will report to the Plant Manager or the Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform technical tasks onsite, with expertise in turbine control systems such as Woodward Micronet, Atlas, Mark V/VI/VIe/VIeS, and Bently Nevada 3500.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Execute preventive and corrective maintenance according to OEM manuals and industry best practices.
Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Ensure projects meet control, electrical, and instrumentation standards.
Support control, electrical, and instrumentation engineering activities to optimize plant performance.
Review and approve third-party engineering content.
Coordinate with the Plant Manager on maintenance activities and scope changes.
Mentor and train operations personnel.
Operate SCADA, Protection, and Control Systems during shifts.
Support other activities as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis and contribute to continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Degree or higher in Control, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
Proficiency in English, Spanish, or French.
Minimum 5 years' experience in design, commissioning, and technical support in power plants.
Knowledge of ABB, ComAp, DEIF controls, and familiarity with standards like CSA, NEC, IEEE.
At least 3 years of experience in power generation plants (TM2500 / LM2500 / LM6000).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows.
Knowledge of industrial communication, protection systems, and CMMS.
