What We're Looking For
We are seeking a Senior Engineer in Space Situational Awareness (SSA) to design, develop and supervise advanced systems that protect and manage the space environment. You will contribute to international programs shaping the future of space security and collaborate with institutions across the sector.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and supervise Space Situational Awareness (SSA) systems.
• Develop and optimize algorithms for space sensors and space object cataloging.
• Define technical requirements, produce system designs
• Diagnose and resolve system incidents while improving performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with national and international agencies and key stakeholders
Requirements
• Master's degree in Space Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields.
• 5+ years of experience in algorithm development and space systems.
• Advanced programming skills in Fortran, Python, and Java.
• Experience working with legacy code and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of ground-based sensors, orbital dynamics, and space object cataloging.
• Understanding of Orekit, GitLab CI/CD, ECSS standards, and AI technologies is valued.
• Strong analytical thinking, autonomy, and responsibility.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork mindset.
• Fluent English.
• Experience with European space standards and interaction with SSA/SDA programs.
• Familiarity with advanced cataloging techniques and tracking sensor networks.
• Previous involvement in international SSA initiatives or operational centers.
