We are mission-driven, ambitious, and building the future of sustainable energy with the speed and mindset of a high-growth scale-up.We operate in a complex, high-impact industry, ideal for someone who thrives on challenge, responsibility, and building processes from the ground up.ConditionsPermanent contractHybrid model: 1 day of remote work per weekWorking hours: 9:30 am to 6:30 pm (Fridays until 3:00 pm)Availability to travel across SpainLocation: Hortaleza, MadridRole OverviewThe Connection Permitting Technician will be responsible for leading and coordinating the full permitting process for all required connections in Verdalia’s biomethane projects. This includes gas grid connection, electrical connection, road access, and auxiliary services.The role ensures technical, regulatory, economic, and timeline feasibility until all permits and agreements required to reach Ready-to-Build (RTB) status are secured.Key ResponsibilitiesGas Grid ConnectionConduct preliminary feasibility analysis (capacity, pressure, distance to grid)Liaise with distribution and transmission operatorsRequest and follow up on connection studiesNegotiate technical and economic conditionsCoordinate basic engineering for the connection pointMonitor progress until signing of technical and commercial agreementsElectrical ConnectionApply for grid connection points (self-consumption or export)Coordinate with electricity distribution companiesTrack access and connection permitsManage associated financial guaranteesCoordinate technically with plant engineering teamsAccess and Auxiliary ServicesProcess road access permits (regional, national, or municipal roads)Manage permits with municipalities and sectoral authoritiesCoordinate public domain interferences (water authorities, roads, railways such as ADIF, etc.)Oversee easements and rights of wayInternal CoordinationWork closely with Engineering and Legal teamsIdentify critical connection risks at early stagesPropose alternative technical solutions when neededTimeline and Risk ManagementDevelop and monitor connection schedulesIdentify administrative bottlenecksAnticipate technical requirements from utilitiesSupport project prioritization strategyCandidate ProfileEducationDegree in Engineering (preferably Industrial, Civil, Energy, or similar)Specialization in energy regulation or infrastructure is a plusProfessional level of English is a plusExperience3–6 years of experience in the renewable energy sector (mandatory)Proven experience in:Gas or electricity connection permittingEnergy project developmentWorking with utilities, public administrations, or infrastructure stakeholdersExperience in renewable gases (e.G. biomethane, biogas) is highly valuedKey CompetenciesStrong technical communication skillsResults- and deadline-oriented mindsetNegotiation skillsStrategic vision in project developmentAbility to manage multiple processes in parallel in a structured wayInterested in joining Verdalia and contributing to the energy transition?
