Environmental Compliance Manager, Environmental Assurance and Protection
We are seeking an Environmental Compliance Manager to support the Spain Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) team across all business lines, and lead one business line within Spain. This role reports to the Country Leader for Spain and is part of the SEU and EU EAP team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute multi‑site responsibilities to comply with air emissions, stormwater, waste, wastewater and other environmental laws, regulations and permits, including required country, state/province and local reporting.
- Develop and maintain relationships with business partners to support their success in environmental compliance, performance and sustainability initiatives.
- Participate in the development, introduction, control, improvement and application of environmental management control systems, procedures, processes and products.
- Measure and analyze sites’ performance against published environmental requirements; identify plans to address deficiencies.
- Cooperate with authorities and implement notification, permission and approval procedures according to environmental law.
- Participate in the annual data collection and reporting (internal, external) and controls (measurements, reviews) on environmentally relevant issues.
- Manage environmental risk programs and/or projects, defining risk and finding solutions.
- Serve as the environmental subject‑matter expert, staying current with industry trends and regulations, and applying them across teams.
- Drive goal‑ and regulation‑based control outcomes, reducing risk to acceptable levels.
- Manage overall schedules for environmental risk mitigation projects, overcoming issues and keeping scope under control.
A Day in the Life
Every day will be different. You will visit our Spain locations, engage with local teams and ensure sites and the business as a whole are set up to deliver effective environmental compliance. You may work with the Legal Team to engage a regulator or help sites deliver environmental training. Flexibility is essential as priorities change daily.

The Environmental Assurance and Protection team protects Amazon businesses and supports the needs of our customers by proactively mitigating environmental regulatory risks and protecting the environment.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent level of qualification in line with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional auditing qualification or similar risk or compliance credentials.
- Experience with SQL and Excel.
- Experience in program requirements definition, together with data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements.
