About the Team: Our Merchant Consultant teams are dedicated to nurturing relationships with Groupon merchants worldwide. We dive deep into understanding the heartbeat of small businesses and optimizing relationships to ensure continued growth for these accounts. While we may seem like a typical eCommerce app, our cutting-edge technology works behind the scenes to empower small businesses in unprecedented ways.
As part of the team, you’ll manage the entire cycle of merchant accounts, from optimizing live deals to negotiating to bring a merchant back to our platform. You will be the primary point of contact for existing merchants. From day one, you’ll receive hands-on professional sales training, equipping you with essential skills for success, such as relationship building and sales strategies.
Responsibilities
* Cultivating and expanding existing merchant relationships, including re-engaging former merchants through cold calling to retain and close local deals.
* Collaborating directly with merchants from diverse sectors, including beauty, restaurants, and services in France and Belgium.
* Driving revenue growth by enhancing and optimizing deals.
* Utilizing your understanding of deal structures and strategies to achieve outcomes for Groupon and merchants, enhancing satisfaction, engagement, retention, and profit.
* Gaining familiarity with each merchant’s business to provide tailored support and resolve any issues related to their deal campaigns.
* Consistently meeting or surpassing sales targets and ensuring high levels of merchant satisfaction.
Qualifications
* Native fluency in French
* Proficiency in spoken and written English
* A bachelor’s degree (preferred)
* 1+ years of success in a sales environment
* A blend of coachability and confidence that others admire
* Ability to juggle multiple priorities with skill and efficiency
* A thirst for learning and developing sales skills in a dynamic environment
* A strong commitment to integrity and work ethic
* Excellent listening skills, with the ability to be assertive, persistent, and persuasive
* Curiosity about people, local businesses, and the talent to inspire passion in others
* Sound decision-making skills and customer-focused instincts
* Adaptability and resilience in the face of new challenges
* Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems (a plus)
* Experience in upselling, reselling over the phone, and cold calling (a plus)
* Experience supporting merchants (a plus)
