Job Description
Gilead Sciences, Inc. is a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, and commercializes innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need. With each new discovery and investigational drug candidate, we seek to improve the care of patients living with life-threatening diseases around the world. Gilead’s therapeutic areas of focus include HIV/AIDS, liver diseases, cancer, inflammation, cell therapy, and invasive fungal disease.
This is a field-based Medical Scientist (MS) position with local responsibilities. Working as part of an experienced team, including a Team Leader and other MSs, the role focuses on scientific exchange with specialist hospital staff in the field.
Essential Duties and Job Functions :
* Respond to clinical inquiries regarding marketed or developmental Gilead products and present scientific and clinical data for these products.
* Establish strong relationships with opinion leaders, clinical investigators, and providers in academic and non-academic settings.
* Identify and engage regional and national experts as speakers through personal contacts and on-site visits.
* Assist investigators with submission to Gilead of investigator-sponsored trials and grant requests.
* Anticipate obstacles and resolve difficulties in the field collaboratively.
* Collaborate with Gilead personnel in Sales, Regional Market Access, Marketing, Clinical Research, Clinical Operations, Safety, and Medical Communication.
* Conduct scientific exchanges, communicate complex scientific information clearly and ethically, adhering to Gilead’s policies and legal standards.
* Develop and execute plans and activities based on the Medical Affairs Plan of Action.
* Be sought out by internal and external parties for expert advice and collaboration.
* Deliver impactful presentations using scientific resources across various settings.
* Travel extensively within the territory and attend national and international conferences and meetings.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills :
* Strong scientific background with a medical or pharmacy degree, or a higher degree (e.g., MSc or PhD).
* Good knowledge of the Spanish healthcare system; previous industry experience is desirable.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Proactive, team-oriented, and capable of taking ownership of projects.
