Your role as a Principal Maintenance Manager - EMEA

This is a unique opportunity to join GXO, help to shape and drive the strategic direction of automation solutions and maintenance strategy across the region.

Are you a maintenance expert, strong exposure to systems and preventative measures, monitoring and managing network impact, overseeing issues in operational proactive maintentance, reducing machine down time and hours spent on maintenance planning and strategy.

Due to travel 50-75% of the time within Continental Europe, our role can be based in Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany or Poland. We will need fluency in English;

additional European languages are of benefit.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Automation & Adaptive Technology for Continental Europe

Shape Maintenance Strategy: Contribute to the development of a Continental Europe maintenance / automation strategy. Define and implement technical support and maintenance standards for large-scale automated sites.Drive Operational Efficiency through standardization of maintenance activities: Lead continuous improvement initiatives by benchmarking performance, analysing maintenance metrics, and identifying opportunities to enhance system availability and implement best practices with the aim to reduce downtimeSupport Implementation of Automation Solutions: Guide and support the deployment of new automation technologies, ensuring successful integration and scalability across sites.Foster Cross-Country Collaboration with Maintenance Teams: Promote and coordinate collaboration across the European operational community to share knowledge, align strategies, and drive synergies.

Demonstrated experience in assessing the performance of automated systems, with a strong background in machine reliability and maintenance within central teams.Data Analysis: Strategic Vision: Ability to think both tactically and strategically, balancing short-term execution with long-term planning.Influential Leadership: Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and align diverse teams and decision-makers.Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively (50%–75%) across Continental Europe as needed.Languages: Fluent in English any other European languages beneficial
