We are seeking a Chef (Cook) / Stewardess to join a commercially operated, UK-flagged sailing yacht based in Palma de Mallorca and operating throughout the Mediterranean.
This role would suit a capable and experienced cook with a strong background in galley operations and guest cooking, combined with previous stewardess experience. Nice menu presentation and attention to detail are essential. Experience on sailing yachts is preferred but not strictly required.
The ideal candidate will have a positive, flexible attitude and enjoy working as part of a close-knit team. A willingness to assist across departments and contribute to a smooth onboard operation is key. Sailing experience, tender driving skills, and a tender license would all be considered advantages.
The owner uses the yacht frequently with family and guests and places high importance on charter feedback and ensuring all guests have an excellent onboard experience. The yacht actively sails and enjoys participating in small regattas when possible.
Candidate Profile
1. Female candidate preferred (all nationalities and ages considered)
2. Proven experience as Chef (Cook) with guest-focused cooking
3. Stewardess experience required
4. Sailing experience an advantage
5. Tender driving experience and tender license an advantage
6. Previous experience in a combined Chef (Cook) / Stewardess role on a similar-sized yacht preferred
7. Strong team player with a flexible, positive attitude
Minimum Requirements
8. Valid STCW
9. Valid ENG1 Medical Certificate (minimum 6 months validity)
10. Food Hygiene Level 2
11. EU resident or Schengen visa
Salary & Benefits
12. Salary: EUR 4,000 per month
13. MLC-approved SEA contract
14. 2.5 days' leave per month plus 8 UK public holidays (pro rata)
15. MLC-approved crew insurance
16. Joining transport provided at start of contract
17. Repatriation transport provided at termination of contract
Vessel & Program Information
18. Commercially operated, UK-flagged sailing yacht
19. Owner from the Netherlands;
uses the vessel regularly with family (2 adults, 2 teenagers)
20. March-May: Short owner trips (possible Mallorca, Spain, France, or Portugal - TBC)
21. June-July: Mixed use, with owner use mainly in July (France & Italy - TBC)
22. August-September: Mostly charter (Balearic Islands, one confirmed charter and multiple enquiries)
23. October: Vessel closing (winter destination TBC)
24. Owner is detail-oriented but relaxed, kind, and values excellent charter feedback
