Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Principal New Plant Licensing Engineer to support the deployment of advanced nuclear technology, with a focus on Advanced Plant reactor projects. You will report to the New Plants Licensing Manager for Safety Analysis, Risk Applications, and Licensing and will directly support the exciting growth in the Westinghouse Advanced Plant development globally. This position will be located at the Madrid headquarters in San Sebastián de los Reyes with a hybrid work schedule (remote and in-office). This is a full-time role.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement licensing strategies for new nuclear plant technologies, with emphasis on AP1000 and AP300 designs.
* Support proposal development through technical input, scope definition, and schedule coordination.
* Prepare regulatory submittals including Safety Analysis Reports, license amendment requests, and Topical Reports.
* Serve as the primary liaison between Westinghouse, customers/licensees, the U.S. NRC, and international regulatory bodies.
* Mentor and guide junior engineers on licensing deliverables and project execution.
* Provide technical and regulatory expertise to internal stakeholders and leadership.
* Deliver licensing presentations to internal and external partners.
* Evaluate engineering design changes for regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
* 10+ years of experience
* Bachelor of Science in Engineering (typically Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Nuclear)
* Nuclear licensing skills like development of 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations, License Amendments, and topical reports
* Familiar with NRC regulations and nuclear industry guidance
* Familiar with AP1000 design, operation, and work processes
* A subject matter expert in one or more technical or licensing disciplines
* Nuclear safety and customer focus outlook
* Travel up to 10% to support customer, industry, or regulator activities
