Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated candidate to incorporate as a RESEARCHER for SUNTEC area, which is mainly dedicated to the design, development and implementation of sustainable and scalable solar conversion technologies. The applicant will be incorporated in the research line focused on advanced glazing technologies and will be involved in several national and European R&D projects focused on integration testing and validation of smart dynamic windows.
Research Line Aims
* Developing innovative smart glazing technologies based on advanced chromogenic nanomaterials (electrochromic, thermochromic, photochromic) capable of maximising both energy efficiency and visual/thermal comfort
* Developing optimized smart control systems and energy optimisation models for dynamic glazing systems embodying IoT and AI platforms
* Designing, modelling and validation of energy‑efficient glazing elements both at component and at built‑environment levels
* Most of these activities are carried out in cooperation with prestigious research centres (both at national and international level) and various industrial partners
Responsibilities
* Fabrication of engineered nanostructured films by screen printing, inkjet printing or spray coating
* Design, manufacturing and characterization of lab‑scale photo‑electrochemical devices
* Test and validation of prototypes at both component and integrated system levels
* Drafting of scientific papers, technical reports, participation at international scientific conferences and dissemination activities
Qualifications
* Master's degree in Materials Chemistry, Renewable Energies, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Electrical Engineering
* PhD in Energy‑Related Technologies (valued)
* Experience in the design, fabrication and characterization of nanostructured materials and photo‑electrochemical devices
* Knowledge of fundamental electrochemical techniques (cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical deposition, impedance spectroscopy, etc.)
* Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
* Efficient use of time and resources
* Flexibility and a positive attitude
* Fluent English; Good Spanish
