This role ensures accurate analysis, maintains laboratory equipment, and contributes to the implementation and validation of new research methods. Additionally, the position involves maintaining thorough documentation, controlling laboratory equipment, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.**:**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:- Conduct physicochemical analyses of petroleum products, chemicals, and crude oil following industry standards and laboratory protocols.- Evaluate research results and prepare detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.- Maintain and update laboratory documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.- Monitor and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment in adherence to safety regulations.- Support the implementation and validation of new research methods to enhance laboratory capabilities.- Assist in Proficiency Testing programs to uphold high standards of laboratory performance.- Operate within a shift-based work schedule to ensure continuous laboratory operations.- Perform additional tasks assigned by the line manager to support laboratory efficiency.- Continuously update knowledge and skills within the field.- To always respect and protect company and client confidentiality.- Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to operational excellence.**QUALIFICATIONS**:- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Laboratory Technology, or a related field.- Good practical and theoretical knowledge of analytical techniques.- Prior experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the petroleum or chemical industry.- Knowledge of industry regulations, testing methodologies, and laboratory safety standards will be an added advantage.- Knowledge of English (minimum B1)**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES**:- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Ability to share knowledge and expertise effectively with colleagues to build team capability.- High level of availability and flexibility.**COMPETENCIES**:- ** Execution Excellence**: deliver impact through practical problem-solving, finding practical solutions to navigate and overcome obstacles; engagement with stakeholders, achieving shared goals using effective interpersonal skills; and purposeful execution, implements actionable and adaptive plans to achieve results.- ** Data Literacy**: analyse, interpret, and communicate operational data to derive actionable insights, inform decision-making, and operational improvements to achieve strategic business objectives.- ** Digital Agility**: utilize technology to enhance operational efficiency and prepare the organization to adopt digital practices.- ** Leading Self**: has a self-awareness of how actions are perceived and how to respond to feedback.
