Let's Talk about the Role
You will start by being enrolled in FieldCore's Field Engineering Program (FEP). While in the FEP, you will develop in‐depth technical expertise, lean thinking, and leadership skills. This unique opportunity offers in‐person and online training, as well as on‐the‐job learning from experienced Technical Field Advisors.
Upon successful graduation from the Field Engineering Program, you will be eligible for a Technical Field Advisor position working on Generators .
As a Technical Field Advisor for the Generator Specialist, you will provide on‐site technical direction to customer‐owned utility and industrial power plants for their Turbine Generator Systems.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating, and directing resources such as labour, tools, and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements.
How You Will Make a Difference
Maintain a strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects technical requirements within GE safety standards.
Manage inspection and testing of generator fields and stator utilizing the latest technology (MAGIC Jr. & Sr. inspection, Digital/Analog EL‐CID, Flush and Bake skid, Quick skid, Capacitance Mapping, Tracer Gas, Vacuum Decay, Pressure Decay, 60‐Hertz AC HIPOT test set, Wedge Tapping, Computer Based Reporting tool, Epoxy Injection, UT Flow, Hazmat training and other topics as needed).
Direct and manage repair or inspection procedures utilizing the latest electronic communication, references, and documentation technologies.
Recognize, predict, and document potential generator failures.
Present accurate generator quality issues to Generator Product Service and regional specialists.
Participate as a Service Team member dedicated to Safety metrics.
Plan pre‐outage schedules; recommend and administer policies and procedures.
Execute projects, including generator field and stator rewinds, general generator repairs, and inspections.
Support warranty administration and troubleshoot issues.
Special Role Requirements
Able to travel extensively overseas to field assignments.
Willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
Can spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.
Skills for Success
Fluent in English; strong technical competence and passion for engineering.

A desire to learn and solve problems.
A positive can‐do attitude with the ability to communicate with internal and external customers.
A formal engineering degree is nice to have, but we focus on experience and professional achievements.
