JOB SUMMARY
To be responsible for analyzing and interpreting large datasets to identify fraud patterns, trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. The Data Analyst will work closely with audit team members to design and implement data analysis, visualization and alerts tools to identify and prevent losses and support internal audit objectives. Will report to the Internal Audit Director and Senior VP Internal Audit.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Audit Process Improvement: Collaborate with internal audit team members to identify data requirements, areas for process improvement and develop data-driven solutions to optimize audit processes.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze, interpret and correlate multiple large datasets to identify fraud, trends, anomalies, and correlations using SAP and TMS (MHEA Property Management System).
Data Visualization: Create interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present findings to stakeholders, including audit committee members, management, and other stakeholders.
Data Extraction and Processing: Extract data from various systems and process it for analysis using Caseware IDEA and queries.
Audit Data Analytics: Develop and implement data analytics models to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement in the organization's operational & financial results, and compliance.
Data Governance: Identify and mitigate data quality issues and ensure data integrity.
Training and Suppo rt: Provide training and support to internal audit team members and hotel staff and management team for control/fraud topics.
Staying Up to Date with Industry Trends: Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analysis and visualization, applying this knowledge to improve audit processes and results.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis or a related field.
Experience with data visualization tool; preferably Power BI.
Preferred experience with Caseware IDEA (data analysis) and scripting
Knowledge of SAP R/3, HANA
Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS), SQL, MYSQL and Oracle Databases.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and/or R
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in data science
Fluency in Spanish and English
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
REQUIREMENTS
Available to travel 30% of the time.
