About the Role
The Cyber Security & Business Continuity Specialist (EAME) plays a vital role in strengthening Symrise’s regional IT security and resilience. Key responsibilities include:
* Enhancing the regional security presence across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EAME).
* Introducing and supporting the “sparring partner” concept for Business Continuity Management (BCM), acting as a trusted advisor to business units and regions.
* Supporting the implementation of regional cybersecurity measures in alignment with global standards.
* Proactively monitoring IT/OT environments and third parties to identify and mitigate risks.
* Participating in regional and global IT and security projects to safeguard infrastructure and data.
* Identifying potential vulnerabilities and implementing protective measures to prevent unauthorized access or cyberattacks.
* Supporting penetration testing, network vulnerability assessments, and access audits in collaboration with global teams.
* Providing guidance and hands-on support to business units, project teams, and customers on security-related topics.
* Leading or supporting the design, testing, and refinement of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
* Driving awareness initiatives and delivering security trainings to enhance organizational preparedness.
About you
You bring a solid foundation in IT security and business continuity, along with a proactive mindset and strong analytical skills. Ideally, you have:
* A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
* Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar (a strong plus).
* Proven experience in IT security, business continuity management (BCM), and disaster recovery planning—preferably in a regional or global context.
* Hands-on knowledge of IT security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR), penetration testing, network vulnerability detection, and system auditing.
* Familiarity with security technologies like firewalls, data encryption, and operating system security measures.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify, assess, and resolve security issues effectively.
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in monitoring, reporting, and managing security-related activities.
* A collaborative and advisory mindset, with the ability to engage stakeholders and support cross-functional teams.
