Job Title: UX lead

Location: Barcelona/Trondheim

Reports to: CPO

About Us Help make physical AI a reality We’re on a mission to democratize robotics by making physical AI real. At T-ROBOTICS, we build intelligent agents that interact with users through natural language and take control of robotic stations to meet their needs. We are firstly using this technology to create CNC tending robot solutions that are truly flexible and user‑friendly. In the future, the sky is the limit.

Backed by top‑tier VCs and built by a team with world‑class engineers and deep industry roots, we're developing a product that bridges AI and industrial automation like never before. We're early, ambitious, and laser‑focused on delivering real value to the market.

Ownership

– We take initiative, own outcomes, and always aim for our best work — because our customers count on it.

Pragmatism

– We focus on solving real problems with lean, practical solutions that create value fast.

Boldness

– We think big, move fast, and take smart risks to drive meaningful progress.

Candor

– We speak openly, listen actively, and challenge each other to build better — together.

The role We are looking for a hands‑on UX leader to establish and grow the UX function at T‑Robotics. Starting as an individual contributor, you will focus on deeply understanding our customers and securing usability as the foundation of our product experience. Through research, principles, and process, you will ensure that every interaction with our technology feels intuitive and aligned with real customer needs.

You will collaborate closely with product and engineering to translate insights into clear design direction, contributing directly to UI work where needed while progressively taking on a guiding and reviewing role. As we scale, you will build the UX team, define its practices, and mentor new members—laying down the frameworks that make usability a sustained strength of our organization.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the long‑term UX vision in a new field—industrial robotics—where design excellence and usability can redefine how people interact with machines. Your impact will go beyond creating interfaces; you will help transform complex technology into simple, accessible, and trustworthy experiences for our customers.

Key Responsibilities User Research & Insight Generation

Lead qualitative and quantitative research (interviews, field studies, usability tests, surveys) to deeply understand customer needs through continuous feedback loops.

Translate findings into actionable insights that guide product strategy and design.

Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ensure insights directly inform priorities and solutions.

UX Principles, Processes & Governance

Establish UX principles, standards, and governance that ensure consistency and usability.

Define lean processes that integrate with product and engineering workflows.

Champion user‑centered design practices across the company and act as the voice of the user in product discussions.

Experience Design & Validation

Define and validate user journeys, personas, and workflows that align product development with user goals.

Prototype and test solutions to validate concepts before full development.

UI Design, Oversight & Quality

Contribute to UI design work where needed, while progressively focusing on providing direction and review as the team grows.

Ensure the visual design aligns with usability principles and overall brand identity.

Define design system foundations and maintain visual consistency across touchpoints.

UX Function & Team Growth

Lay the foundations for a scalable UX/UI practice, including tools, processes, and best practices.

Define needed roles in the UX team and lead hiring as the function grows.

Mentor and support new team members, fostering a culture of user‑centered design.

Collaborate with leadership to shape the long‑term UX vision.

Required skills and qualifications

Proven experience (5+ years) in UX research and design, ideally within complex B2B or industrial software products.

Strong track record of leading user research (interviews, field studies, usability tests) and translating insights into product direction.

Solid understanding of usability principles and user‑centered design methods.

Experience defining UX principles, processes, and design systems.

Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma or similar).

Ability to collaborate effectively with product managers and engineers in cross‑functional teams.

Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly present findings and advocate for users.

Proactive, ownership‑driven mindset aligned with a fast‑paced startup environment.

What will differentiate you

Experience in industrial automation, industrial robotics, or industrial manufacturing domains involving complex physical–digital interactions.

Demonstrated ability to build or scale a UX team, including hiring and mentoring.

Experience balancing UX research with hands‑on design contributions in fast‑paced environments.

Familiarity with interaction paradigms beyond standard UI (e.g. 3D simulation, voice, multimodal interfaces).

Strong sense of pragmatism: ability to define lean, usable solutions without over‑designing.

Additional language skills (Spanish, German, or Scandinavian languages).

Understanding of metal fabrication, CNC machines, or CAD/CAM software.

What you’ll get

A foundational role shaping the UX function in a fast‑growing robotics startup.

Full ownership of UX principles, processes, and function building.

The opportunity to make usability a defining strength of our product and help redefine how humans interact with robots.

Collaboration with a world‑class, mission‑driven team at the frontier of AI, robotics, and industrial automation.

Direct customer exposure and the ability to see your work adopted in real manufacturing environments.

Competitive salary and equity, with long‑term growth potential.
