Overview Senior SAP Sales Distribution & Materials Management Lead – join a growing core team leading a greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation in Europe for a global automotive supplier.
You will help define and deploy standardized processes in Sales & Distribution and Materials Management, while maintaining decentralized agility. This is a unique opportunity to shape a modern ERP from the ground up, bringing together the strengths of our divisions into a solution built for our company's way of working.
You will be part of a highly visible SAP implementation core team, focused on aligning strategic objectives with tactical demands. This role can be performed remotely from a home office, with travel required during key project phases. Preferred location: Spain, Barcelona.
Role Summary As the Senior SAP S/4HANA Lead for SD & MM, you will own end-to-end processes related to procurement planning, internal material management, inventory management, sales, picking and shipping in an automotive supplier environment. You will:
Configure and support automotive-specific SD processes including customer scheduling agreements, EDI call-offs, ATP, and outbound logistics.
Design and map procurement and subcontracting flows in line with lean JIT delivery expectations.
Collaborate with logistics and shipping departments to adapt current business processes in transportation management and warehouse operations within SAP S/4HANA.
Support Change management by translating technical solutions into clear business impacts for Logistics and Warehouse teams.
Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Sales and Finance to ensure end-to-end process consistency.
Key Responsibilities Solution Design & Delivery
Act as long-term owner of the SAP SD and MM template, ensuring its evolution through future rollouts and enhancements.
Lead business requirements and configuration workshops
Engage with Key users to shape SD and MM processes in SAP that balance common foundations with local agility
Build, test, and validate a scalable ERP template
Data & Testing
Coordinate with divisional teams and Data Migration Coordinator to prepare and validate data
Guide user acceptance testing and assist in test script creation
Ensure Logistic Processes in SAP support simplicity, efficiency and strong master data governance.
Training & Support
Train key users based on configured processes
Provide post-go-live functional support and transition solution ownership to local teams
Leadership & Ownership
Act as functional lead during future rollouts
Collaborate with external consultants during pilot implementation
Communicate status, risks, and progress clearly to project leadership
Key Skills & Qualifications Must-Have:
10+ years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and at least 1-2 implementations for private cloud SAP S/4HANA
Deep expertise in SD, MM within automotive supplier industry context
Strong understanding of automotive supplier operations (traceability, lean, labeling, packaging)
Experience with EDI, JIT, Call-offs, Labels and Handheld Scanner integration
Track record in SAP transformation projects including blueprint, configuration, data migration, testing, and user training
Nice-to-Have:
Exposure to SAP BTP, ABAP, Fiori apps
Experience with SAP RISE S/4HANA Private Cloud
Knowledge of EWM modules.
