From LHH, we are seeking an Operations Supervisor. This role will manage a larger team and carry additional responsibilities for performance reviews and training development of the team. The role may also have the Operations Team Leader position reporting to it.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
* Enforce safe systems of work and hold team members accountable for health and safety performance.
* Provide safe equipment and a safe working environment, ensuring all employees and contractors wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
* Ensure employees are informed, instructed, trained, and supervised to perform their work safely.
* Strive for zero recordable injuries by delivering activities like Near Misses and Safety Observations, and completing actions timely.
* Investigate safety and environmental incidents and establish countermeasures.
* Manage production operations to ensure efficiency and schedule achievement.
* Deploy and supervise team members effectively, resolving daily problems.
* Monitor attendance, performance, and operating standards; initiate necessary changes.
* Monitor operator 'dead time' and reduce it where possible.
* Empower team members to take responsibility and escalate issues when necessary.
* Provide coverage in the absence of other Supervisors.
* Develop and communicate recommendations for plant, equipment, and work practices.
* Train and encourage team members to improve performance and participate in communication and improvement initiatives.
* Involve team members in understanding business needs and decision-making.
* Conduct appraisals, identify training and development needs, and perform other assigned duties.
FORMAL EDUCATION :
Previous supervisory experience and/or qualifications. Educated to Secondary or High School standard; university education preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE :
