About RISThe EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (EIT RIS) is an outreach scheme that:

supports the integration of business, higher education and research institutions to boost innovation.

increases the innovation capacity of European regions that don't yet benefit directly from the EIT and its Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs).

Introduced in 2014, the EIT RIS is a new element of the EIT Community outreach strategy and the EIT's answer to encouraging wider participation in its innovation activities.

The EIT RIS is based on two-way engagement between the KICs and selected partnerships from business, higher education and research, as well as regional policy-makers, public entities and other stakeholders essential to spurring innovation in Europe. It capitalises on the potential offered by Europe's regional diversity in order to make a lasting impact on innovation in Europe.

RIS countries are:

EU Member States: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Romania.

H2020 Associated Countries in Europe: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Türkiye, Ukraine, Israel.

Other non-RIS European countries: Moldova, Armenia.

About EIT Community HubsThe EIT Community is the group of 10 thematic communities set by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) which are working in Europe to boost innovation and entrepreneurship. The 10 communities are: EIT Urban Mobility, Innoenergy, Climate KIC, 28Digital, EIT Raw Materials, EIT Health, EIT Food, EIT Manufacturing, EIT Culture and Creativity and EIT Water.

All 10 knowledge and innovation communities (KICs) are working together as one EIT Community to deploy EIT Community Hubs in 29 European countries and outermost regions. The EIT Community Hubs aim to provide local innovators with a unified source of information on all services and opportunities provided by the entire EIT Community, both locally and internationally. It will also serve as a centralised gateway, for local innovators, to all EIT KICs.

Be part of a team where:The RIS (Regional Innovation Scheme) project officer will report to the RIS Senior Manager. The primary focus will be to conduct the successful operation and monitoring of EIT Community Officers in 6 countries (Malta, Cyprus, Türkiye, Montenegro, Albania, and North Macedonia), providing also support for additional 3 countries (Czechia, Bulgaria, and Ukraine), in cooperation with other Knowledge and Innovation Communities (EIT Urban Mobility, Innoenergy, Climate KIC, 28Digital, EIT Raw Materials, EIT Health, EIT Food, EIT Manufacturing, EIT Culture and Creativity and EIT Water). The RIS project officer will also deploy a strategy and implement related activities to facilitate cooperation between EIT Urban Mobility and EIT Community Officers (ECOs) in 29 countries. The RIS project officer will support the EIT Community Hub Coordination to harmonise the processes and methodologies in the 29 EIT Community Hubs operation.

The position includes responsibility over the following tasks:

Lead the regular operation of EIT Community Hubs in 6 countries, manage request for proposals, service agreements, and related payments, supervise activities.

Monitor progress of KPI and activity implementation, conduct the quarterly performance evaluation of the mentioned EIT Community Hubs following the guidelines of EIT Community Officers monitoring and performance assessment.

Propose changes and constant improvements to the operation of the EIT Community Hubs.

Be the liaison SPOC between the ECO and the EIT with regard to external communications (public events, press releases, etc), stakeholder management (European Commission, EIT Governing Board, national Ministries, etc).

Align with the other Knowledge and Innovation Communities on the operation processes of the EIT Community Officers connected to all of the RIS area countries.

Develop a strategy on the involvement of EIT Community Officers in EIT Urban Mobility goals achievement in line with EIT Urban Mobility local representatives presence in the country and implement related action plan to provide regular, updated and targeted information to all EIT Community Officers about EIT Urban Mobility, keep in contact with relevant EIT Urban Mobility Innovation Hubs about ECOs involvement, set EIT Urban Mobility‐relevant targets and monitor its achievements.

Backup and ad hoc support tasks for the EIT Community Hub coordination.

What you will bring along the way:An ideal candidate will strive to generate positive environmental and social impact in line with EIT Urban Mobility's mission.

Must‐have:

Level of seniority: at least 4 years of experience.

Completed Master's Degree related to International Relations / Economics / Business administration / public administration.

Written and spoken English (C1).

Strong and proven project management skills.

Financial analytical skills to follow up on multiple budget reporting.

Experience with the management and procurement of EU‐financed projects.

Presentation skills and public speaking capacity.

Team player who can work independently with few instructions.

Organized and structured, pro‐active and hands‐on.

Nice‐to‐have:

Education in Mobility & Transport related topics.

Additional European language from the RIS area.

Experience in Mobility & Transport and Smart Cities sector.

EU Horizon Europe regulation, project delivery and reporting.

Experience from working in a multi‐national multi‐cultural environment, a European perspective.

Workshop facilitation and negotiation skills.

Motivation to work in fast‐moving, innovative, and sometimes ambiguous environments.

Relationship building, networking skills.
