About the role:
As a Trainee in Accounting, you will work within the Accounting and Financial Reporting team of our Product Delivery department, gaining hands-on experience while supporting clients in the alternative investment fund industry.
Your responsibilities include managing accounts payable, participating in fund accounting reconciliations, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory filings.
This position is based in Spain and reports to our Manager in Accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily bookkeeping for fund and non-fund entities, ensuring accurate and timely transaction recording.
Reconcile bank statements for funds and related entities, prioritising key transactions.
Process and review vendor invoices, ensuring proper classification and compliance.
Assist in preparing NAV packages, Capital Account Statements, and Quarterly Reports using the fundcraft platform.
Support audit documentation and ensure compliance with LPAs and internal policies.
Maintain financial records in the fundcraft platform, review accounting data, and support team outputs.
Qualifications:
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
Basic understanding of accounting principles.
Familiarity with digital tools or platforms.
Interest or experience with accounting software or ERP systems like Odoo is a plus.
Comfortable working in a cloud-based environment.
Attention to detail and high accuracy.
Organisational and prioritisation skills in a fast-paced setting.
Willingness to learn and grow in a supportive team.
Proactive with problem-solving skills.
Availability to work from our office in Spain.
Interest in the alternative investment fund industry and fund accounting career development.
