We are seeking a skilled software engineer to join our team focused on building and maintaining our billing, pricing, and packaging software solutions at Timescale. As part of our close-knit, all-remote team, you will have the opportunity to work on critical services that power our managed TimescaleDB cloud offerings.
This is a full-time position, with a preference for candidates located in the European time zones.
Develop back-end features for Tiger Cloud, specializing in a distributed microservice architecture with an emphasis on platform and database expertise.
Design and build Kubernetes controllers, operators, and CRDs to extend platform functionality
Improve deployment reliability, error handling, and developer tooling (CLI, APIs, SDKs)
5+ years of backend or platform engineering experience
~3+ years Kubernetes operations (building, debugging, scaling clusters)
~ Experience developing Kubernetes operators/controllers with client-go or controller-runtime
~ Solid understanding of PostgreSQL (admin, replication, query tuning, migrations)
~ Strong focus on testing, code quality, and best practices (
~Experience with TimescaleDB or PostgreSQL in production
Cloud provider expertise (AWS, Azure;
Experience with self-hosted Kubernetes clusters (not only EKS/AKS/GKE)
Previous work on database-as-a-service or large-scale distributed systems
