Position Overview
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company in Spain, ensuring compliance with local regulations, managing reporting processes, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity and optimizing business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
* Prepare and supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Ensure accuracy and compliance with Spanish GAAP (PGC) and, where applicable, IFRS
* Manage general ledger, reconciliations, and closing processes
* Monitor internal controls and implement improvements
Compliance & Taxation
* Ensure compliance with Spanish tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Tax, SII reporting, etc.)
* Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
* Oversee statutory filings and regulatory requirements
Budgeting & Forecasting
* Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
* Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights
* Support business units with financial planning
Cash Flow & Treasury
* Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital
* Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions
* Optimize treasury processes
Business Partnering
* Provide financial insights to senior management
* Support strategic decisions with data-driven analysis
* Collaborate with operations, sales, and HR teams
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
* Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
* Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or Spanish equivalent) is a plus
Experience
* 5–10+ years of experience in finance/accounting roles
* Previous experience as Financial Controller or Senior xohynlm Accountant
* Experience in multinational environments is highly valued
Technical Skills
* Strong knowledge of Spanish accounting standards (PGC) and tax regulations
* Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Navision, etc.)
* Advanced Excel skills
Languages
* Fluent in Spanish
* Professional level of English (minimum C1).
