The STEM College and RMIT Europe are seeking a dynamic and driven Academic Director to join the RMIT Europe team in Barcelona.
In this role, you will lead and expand research activities at RMIT Europe, while fostering new education partnership opportunities across Europe. You will also collaborate closely with the Executive Director to drive growth, enhancing the scope and impact of high quality research and educational partnerships for STEM in the European region.
The key focus areas for STEM in Europe include: Digital Manufacturing and Circularity, Health Futures, Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure, and Climate Adaptive Cities.
Internal candidates will need to be endorsed by their relevant Head of School / Dean prior to submitting their application as this role will be offered on a 2 3 year secondment for RMIT staff.
What will you be accountable for?
* Engaging with existing academic and industry partners in Europe through own or RMIT Europe''s existing networks for research and innovation partnerships.
* Building research capacity at RMIT Europe for STEM in selected research areas.
* Connecting academic colleagues in Melbourne and Vietnam with relevant research and education opportunities in Europe.
* Drive impact of existing research projects.
* Collaborating with the RMIT Europe pre award team to secure substantial funding from European and national programs to bolster partnership initiatives.
* Providing research leadership to the growing number of research fellows at RMIT Europe in STEM disciplines.
Lets talk about you
Currently an Academic Level D or above with a continuing or fixed term contract with RMIT University and limited teaching duties.
Rich network of contacts in Europe''s academia, industry, and research centres.
International expertise in a field of research and innovation relevant to RMIT priority sectors in Europe (digital manufacturing and circularity; sustainable infrastructure and resilience; Health Futures; Climate Adaptive Built Environment) particularly if the candidate is an academic whose contributions are recognised globally and/or in the European context.
Proven track record of research funding and research project leadership in Australia or other contexts.
Proven track record of developing education partnerships and fostering excellence in education.
Demonstrated interest in establishing and further developing new and/or existing research and education collaborations with European academic and industry partners during and after the visiting period.
