We are currently seeking an experienced Head Sommelier to join COYA. This is a seasonal position and is advertised for future openings.
Experience required:
- Certified sommelier or successfully completed equivalent of WSET, Level 3 preferred.
- Solid knowledge of French and New World wines, especially South American and North American wines.
- Attention to detail with excellent customer service skills.
- A team player, proactive with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good command of English and Spanish, with confident communication skills.
- Passion for personal development and working with people.
- Ability to compose wine lists to maximize guest satisfaction, profit, and recognition.
- Experience in creating, maintaining, and developing wine stocks, sales, and lists in line with company direction.
- Strive to meet sales targets and ensure all team members are aware of departmental goals.
- Review and analyze sales to ensure stock rotation and profitability.
- Manage wine sourcing and establish strong relationships with suppliers.
- Oversee wine administration to ensure organization and up-to-date records.
