Position Purpose:
People.
Develop a high-performance team (5 direct reports) who will grow and develop beyond their current roles and into more senior positions.
Increase team engagement, developing appropriate strategies around role design, reward, recognition, growth & development, succession and modelling the right behaviours.
Develop strategic partnerships with key retailers. Build depth and breadth of relationships with retailer contacts.
Develop strategic plans which create competitive advantage for CHEP and retailer partners through the implementation of solutions to deliver mutual financial and sustainability value.
Revenue growth – develop and deliver annual revenue targets for Strategic Retailers, working collaboratively with Commercial and Finance teams to identify, develop and deliver revenue growth opportunities.
Focus to retailer advocacy, and the introduction of new platforms and services in the retail environment (e.g. Last Mile and First Mile Solutions)
Asset Productivity. Maximize asset productivity and deliver the value of pooling to CHEP's customers on a cost-effective basis.
Relationship management.
Build strong multi-level & multi-contact senior and operational retailer and leverage customer & industry forums to increase CHEP's visibility and credibility in chosen product categories.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Retail Account Managers, fostering a high-performance culture that drives asset recovery, supply chain efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Maintain a succession plan for key roles, ensuring the development of high-potential team members and effective management of poor performance.
Develop and execute strategic plans for the Retail Account Management team, ensuring alignment with CHEP's broader business goals and delivering mutual value for both CHEP and its retail partners.
Build and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with key retail accounts, leveraging deep market insights to deliver customized solutions that add value for both parties.
Track and manage critical KPIs such as asset productivity, pallet recovery, and cycle time efficiency, ensuring accountability within the team to meet and exceed performance targets.
Collaborate with internal teams including finance, legal, supply chain, and customer service to ensure smooth operations, strategic alignment, and seamless execution of key initiatives.
Drive the adoption of new technologies and innovative tools that improve the Retail Account Management team's performance, enhancing both customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Build strong, trust-based relationships across multiple levels of retail organizations, ensuring CHEP is seen as a trusted partner and advocate for its products and services.
Lead process improvement initiatives, ensuring the team embraces continuous learning, development, and innovation to stay competitive and deliver exceptional results.
Qualifications:
University graduate preferably in Business or Engineering.
MBA or MSc in a business-related discipline.
Experience:
10 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain / Logistics management or Customer Service managing high performing teams.
Worked with financial measures and KPIs.
General Management including operations and logistics.
Record of operational efficiency & continuous improvement.
Experience in influencing change in a matrix / cross-functional environment.
