Description of the Department/Project
The Prefabricated Data Center Systems Line of Business integrates Schneider products into modular enclosures, tests the systems in the factory, and delivers the final solution to the country of destination. This position will be part of the International Region supporting Middle East and Africa, India, and South America tendering and engineering teams. During the sales stage, the department focuses on influencing the customer about the solution by working on a concept and developing detailed engineering to be quoted in the various factories across the regions (Dubai, KSA, India, China, Barcelona, Brazil). During the execution stage, the team develops the engineering package and construction drawings, supporting factories during integration both remotely and on-site.
The Tender Engineer position supports the selling team in securing new business opportunities for Schneider Electric. By developing competitive proposals, the Tender Engineer helps the company win contracts and expand its market presence. This role is essential for influencing customer decisions during the sales stage and ensuring successful project execution during the integration phase.
What will you do?
The Tender Engineer works closely with the sales team and service opportunities on customer projects. As part of the tendering team, you will contribute to the preparation of suitable offers that reflect the customer's needs:
* Support to prepare bids for simple to high technical complexity: design, quoting and project set-up.
* Analyze simple RFQs (Request for Quotation).
* Prepare costing as per standard processes and tools.
* Prepare and submit bid documentation.
* Support the technical team to design a Modular Data Center solution:
* Analyze customer requirements to define the solution (electrical, cooling, fire and monitoring system).
* Configure and select equipment from Schneider Electric portfolio.
* Define solution Bill of Materials.
* Prepare electrical diagrams and 2D/3D designs.
* Support the execution team during the integration in our factories and site deployment, closing the loop with tendering and capturing lessons learned.
* Maintain reliable and efficient communication with main stakeholders: Factory team, Tender Manager, Solution Architect, SME, Sales, Supply Chain, Procurement.
* Support in planning the project in conjunction with the supply chain (MS Project).
* Propose innovative ideas to increase efficiency.
What will you learn?
* Technical and commercial skills: analyze RFQs, interpret requirements, and create specifications based on Schneider Electric offerings; build technical-commercial proposals using standard tools and processes.
* Tender Management: prepare accurate cost estimates, schedules, and bid documents; perform risk analysis and support project planning with the supply chain.
* Communication and negotiation: interact with key stakeholders and negotiate with customers to optimize project outcomes.
* Technical design: assist in designing Modular Data Center solutions, including analyzing requirements, configuring equipment, defining BOM, and preparing electrical diagrams and 2D/3D designs.
* Market knowledge: stay up-to-date on market trends, competitors, and industry developments.
* Innovation and efficiency: propose ideas to increase efficiency in tendering and project execution.
If you are:
* Able to start a 1-year program in May 2025.
* Fluent in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
* Familiarity with AutoCAD and any 3D design software.
* Open-minded and adaptable.
* Proactive behavior.
* Ability to work in a multicultural environment (MEA, SAM, and India).
