Position
Trade Payables Product VP
Role Overview
The Global Trade Payables team develops and commercialises a broad range of payables solutions, with Supply Chain Finance as a key pillar. The VP will lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative Trade Payables products (Confirming, Purchase Order Finance, Dynamic Discounting, Deep Tier SCF) and will shape the product portfolio alongside colleagues across SCIB.
Key Responsibilities
*
* Product Development: Design, develop, and manage Trade Payables products;
identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation of existing solutions.
* Research and Analysis: Conduct market research, analyse data and customer feedback to refine products;
maintain industry awareness of trends, technologies, and best practices.
* Innovation: Implement new technologies and methodologies;
lead brainstorming sessions and workshops;
bring technology, innovation and market trends into new product design.
* Product Execution: Lead end‑to‑end delivery of new products, including ideation, business case, global strategy, book‑of‑work management, approval, implementation and go‑to‑market strategy in partnership with Origination, B&CF, PDM and wider SCIB stakeholders.
* Collaboration with Origination & Other SCIB Areas: Coordinate with Origination, COO, Risk, PDM, Legal and external partners (fintechs, start‑ups, industry experts) to ensure product integration, functionality and a prioritized product development pipeline.
* Client Interaction: Prepare material for RFPs, meetings and events;
support the approach toclients.
* Travel: Required to travel internationally to meet clients and attend conferences or seminars.
Qualifications
*
* Professional Experience: 5‑8 years front‑office experience in a financial institution or equivalent;
experience in Transaction Banking, Trade Finance, Payables is valuable.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or related field;
Master’s degree preferred.
* Languages: Spanish (proficiency) and English (proficiency);
knowledge of a third language is a plus.
* Hard Skills: Deep knowledge of Trade Payables and Supply Chain Finance solutions;
analytical skills;
proven innovation mindset;
experience with APIs, blockchain/digital assets, AI, platform products, ERPs (SAP, Oracle) or P2P platforms (Ariba, Coupa);
familiarity with capital optimisation structures and SCF regulation.
* Soft Skills: Effective communication, active listening, problem‑solving, customer orientation, teamwork, results orientation.
