As the Head of Compliance for Market Area Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), you will have overall responsibility to lead a team of compliance officers in a dynamic and exciting region. You will serve a diverse set of business and organizational units across the region and partner with business stakeholders to implement Ericsson’s Ethics and Compliance program and promote accountability for compliance throughout the business.
Ericsson’s Compliance Office, under the leadership of the Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Investigations, oversees all components of Ericsson’s Ethics and Compliance Program. This includes compliance with our Code of Business Ethics, anti-fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, anti-terrorism measures, and identifying emerging risks. You will support teams addressing sanctions, export controls, antitrust, human rights, and anti-money laundering. As Head of Compliance for the Market Area, you will drive an integrity-led culture and implement key policies and procedures. You will report to the Chief Compliance Officer & Head of Investigations and collaborate with legal and compliance colleagues on training, risk assessments, due diligence, monitoring, and investigations. You will analyze and report on the effectiveness of the ethics & compliance program to stakeholders, including senior management.
You will lead and develop a diverse team of Compliance Officers, set expectations, and manage performance. You will guide them in partnering with business stakeholders to make sound judgments, implement the compliance program, and support risk management.
The role is hybrid with an “office first” approach (approximately 60% in-office) and can be based in any EMEA city with an Ericsson office.
In this role, you will be expected to:
* Lead and manage all aspects of the region’s Ethics & Compliance program.
* Act as a solution-oriented trusted advisor, supporting business stakeholders in managing compliance risks and providing expert advice.
* Promote a culture of Ethics & Compliance and shared responsibility for compliance.
* Manage governance activities, including relevant committees and boards, and contribute to the Group Business Risk Committee.
* Oversee third-party engagement and monitoring.
* Lead compliance training initiatives.
* Assess and manage conflicts of interest, expenditure risks, and engagements with public officials.
* Lead remediation efforts from investigations or other processes.
* Collaborate with other assurance functions for risk mitigation.
* Provide input for program improvements.
* Analyze ethics and compliance data to enhance the program and address gaps.
* Identify opportunities for AI use in compliance and promote its responsible use.
* Manage an assigned budget.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* At least 10 years of experience in ethics & compliance leadership within a multinational organization, with strong credentials.
* A legal degree is highly preferred.
* Experience operating in high-risk markets within the region.
* Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and manage risks.
* Experience in a matrixed organization with diverse stakeholders.
* Ability to simplify complex topics and communicate effectively.
* Ownership and drive for complex projects.
* Experience managing and developing a large, dispersed team.
* Impeccable judgment, maturity, and discretion.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
* Proficiency in relevant languages and ability to work across time zones and travel internationally.
