We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team at CLAP Ibiza. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, exceptional knife skills, and a commitment to delivering the highest standards of quality, presentation, and consistency.
Important Eligibility Requirement
Applicants must already have the legal right to work in Spain and be physically available to work in Ibiza. Applicants are required to hold a valid NIE (Número de Identidad de Extranjero) and a Spanish Social Security Number at the time of application. Applications from candidates who do not currently possess these documents will not be considered. No visa sponsorship or work permit support is available for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present sushi, sashimi, nigiri, maki rolls, and other Japanese specialties to the highest standards.
Ensure all ingredients are prepared, stored, and handled according to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation across all dishes.
Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring only the highest‐quality ingredients are used.
Support menu development and contribute creative ideas for seasonal offerings and specials.
Assist with stock control, inventory management, and ordering requirements.
Minimize waste and ensure efficient use of products and resources.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation at all times.
Collaborate closely with the culinary leadership team and fellow chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Adhere to all company standards, recipes, and operational procedures.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef in a high‐volume upscale restaurant, luxury hotel, or fine dining environment.
Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi preparation techniques, and seafood handling.
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.
Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast‐paced environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Culinary qualifications are preferred.
