Mission Tasks and Responsibilities
* Data management : Develop solutions to ensure the appropriate implementation of standards and methodologies for data management in the Research department.
* Data accessibility : Collaborate with IT, Data Science, and experimental research teams to manage data according to the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles.
* Data Generation : Design assay-specific solutions with experimental researchers to enable data generation from various assays in formats suitable for automatic upload to scientific data platforms. Drive the incremental implementation of a new scientific data platform within Almirall R&D.
* Data Quality : Develop assay-specific solutions with experimental researchers for data quality control and monitoring.
* Collaboration : Work closely with biologists, bioinformaticians, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and support data-related tasks.
* Reporting and Monitoring : Evaluate data usage and report on compliance and quality control metrics.
* Dissemination / Training : Provide training and support to team members on data management tools and best practices.
Education & Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience or Master's degree with 5+ years of experience in Biology, Bioinformatics, or Data Science.
* Experience in running wet laboratory experiments.
* Proven experience in data management within a biological research setting.
* Strong understanding of data governance, quality, and security principles.
* Familiarity with data management tools and software (e.g., R, Python, data visualization tools). SQL knowledge is a plus.
* Team player with effective collaboration and communication skills across scientific disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to biological data (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
* Knowledge of experimental biology techniques and protocols.
