Overview
At Huxley we are collaborating on an international project to incorporate a Software Engineer specialized in automation, technical SEO and large‑scale web performance optimization. This is a long‑term opportunity with a highly technical environment focused on scalability, quality enforcement and continuous improvement across multiple web platforms.
Key Requirements
* 1 - 5 to 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer (ideally in large‑scale or multi‑site web environments)
* 2 - Proven experience building internal tools, automation workflows, APIs and backend services
* 3 - Strong technical SEO knowledge: crawling, indexing, structured data, metadata, canonicalization, sitemaps, robots.txt
* 4 - Solid programming experience with TypeScript/JavaScript or Python
* 5 - Experience working with crawlers, scraping or data‑extraction tools
* 6 - Experience integrating APIs, analytics platforms and automation pipelines
* 7 - Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP)
* 8 - CI/CD familiarity (pipelines, monitoring, logging)
Nice to Have
* Experience building SEO auditing or recommendation engines
* Experience working with headless architectures or multi‑site platforms
* Experience with data pipelines or ML/AI‑driven insights
* Experience in performance engineering or Core Web Vitals optimization
* Familiarity with SSR, CSR or edge rendering strategies

* Fluent English
* Based in Spain (mandatory for compliance and contracting)
Role Details
* Position: Software Engineer - Automation & SEO
* Start date: May 1st, 2026
* Work model: 100% remote (CET)
* Working hours: Full‑time (40h/week)
* Contract type: Freelance/Autónomo
* Selection process: 1 interview
* Duration: 1 year (with possibility of extension)
Responsibilities / Daily Tasks
* Design and implement automation workflows for web operations
* Build internal tools, scripts and services integrated with APIs, crawlers and analytics platforms
* Develop scalable solutions to enforce SEO best practices (structured data, metadata, indexability, crawlability)
* Monitor performance, accessibility and SEO KPIs, designing automated checks and alerts
* Integrate with platforms such as Google Search Console, analytics tools and SEO crawlers
* Develop reusable components and documentation for cross‑team adoption
* Collaborate with engineering, SEO, product and content teams to embed automation and SEO at platform level
* Contribute to platform observability, performance improvements and standardization efforts
