Commissioning Manager – Client side - HV Substation Type: Contract/Freelance - Initial 6 month contract
The Role We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to oversee commissioning delivery from L2 through to completion on a Hyperscale Data Center. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage schedules and resources, ensure technical and safety compliance, and drive smooth, timely project completion.
This position is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys leadership responsibility, structured project environments, and international collaboration.
Key Responsibilities Develop and implement project-specific commissioning strategies and execution plans
Manage commissioning programmes, resourcing, progress tracking, and reporting
Coordinate activities across mechanical, electrical, controls, and vendor disciplines
Liaise with contractors, and internal management teams to maintain progress alignment
Review and sign off on commissioning documentation, risk assessments, and safety plans
Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and technical compliance
Lead troubleshooting and issue resolution during commissioning
Ensure thorough documentation and turnover packages for client acceptance
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to commissioning engineers and site teams
Candidate Profile Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager on HV Substations
Degree or equivalent qualification Electrical Engineering
Strong understanding of commissioning procedures, technical documentation, and safety standards
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Confident managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
Willingness to travel or rotate across European project locations
Current right to work within the EU is essential
