The Medical Director with experience in transplantation will lead efforts to support the medical and clinical development strategy of CareDx’s pipeline and in-line products. Responsibilities include developing clinical trials, research studies, registries, publications, medical information activities, thought leader engagement, and scientific conferences. This role involves both individual contributions and team leadership, collaborating across the company.
The individual will educate and partner with clinical and business leaders, including transplant clinicians, researchers, payers, laboratory directors, and external stakeholders. Internally, the medical director will work with functional and medical teams to prioritize and execute clinical and research partnerships, generating evidence for CareDx’s transplant portfolio.
You will have the opportunity to launch and scale new offerings, demonstrating improved outcomes for transplant recipients. The role is within Medical Affairs, collaborating with R&D, Marketing, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and others.
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of patient care management, clinical messaging, clinician engagement, evidence generation, and dissemination in transplantation. A record of accomplishments in transplantation, relationship-building, and product launches in an entrepreneurial environment are a plus. The position involves frequent travel, working with transplant centers, and supporting the commercial team with senior medical leadership.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and advise a team of medical science liaisons outside the US.
* Design and execute clinical studies, registries, grants, and collaborations.
* Represent the company at scientific meetings and engage with external leaders and patient advocacy groups.
* Provide scientific and clinical leadership for product and business development strategies.
* Support clinical operations at transplant centers through presentations and data reviews.
* Manage scientific advisory boards and participate in key scientific meetings.
* Coordinate resources for new clinical opportunities.
* Review opportunities and report progress to leadership.
Qualifications:
* Passion for improving transplant patient outcomes.
* Medical degree and relevant experience; candidates without a medical degree but with significant experience may be considered.
* Experience in transplantation, clinical research, and publication.
* Understanding of diagnostics and related technologies.
* Leadership experience, results-oriented, proactive, and able to engage with executives and thought leaders.
* Willingness to travel up to 50%.
