The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will support the implementation, execution, and maintenance of the environmental, health, safety, and process safety management systems. You will serve as a subject matter expert for applying safe, compliant operational practices and demonstrate compliance with company policies, work processes, program standards, and regulations.Key Accountabilities
Support the site (EHS Supervisor & Plan Manager) in facilitating community and governmental interactions and managing external reputation.Assist contractor environmental, health, and safety requirements during construction and help evaluate performance during project startup.Partner with regional and country EHS teams to manage site impact assessments, operating permits, and construction permits.Develop and deliver training content aligned with global and regional requirements, conducting gap assessments and customizing curricula to site-specific needs.Collaborate with site and project leaders to integrate environmental, health, safety programs, and promote a culture of safety and compliance.Localize and integrate company and legal work processes into site procedures, tools, and work instructions to standardize operations and monitor performance.Align goals, metrics, and targets with plant vision, governing site performance and supporting planning and incident response.Ensure compliance with legal regulations, communicating changes affecting the organization.Independently resolve moderately complex issues, escalating more complex matters appropriately.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience, typically 3 or more years.At least two years of experience in health, safety, and environmental compliance.Preferred Qualifications
Ability to effectively deliver processes to optimize resources.Strong scientific and mathematical knowledge.Solid understanding of food safety industry practices and standards.Basic business acumen and effective communication skills with business partners.Our Offer
