**Role Purpose**
Lead and maintain a high performing Regional Supply Chain team for Sandoz. Accountable for developing and implementing strategic, tactical, and operational plans for the Supply Chain Region in order to optimize supply chain results. Deliver the numbers: customer service, working capital (inventory), forecast accuracy, demand alignment, and operational costs, whilst staying fully compliant through a motivated, engaged and empowered organization.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
- Being the Key Interface/link between Commercial Operations and Technical Operations for Region SIR (Sandoz International Region)
- Responsible for developing, implementing and adjusting Regional SCM strategies, tactics and processes in accordance to the Global NTO SCM strategic objectives to improve the overall SCM performance of Sandoz SIR
- Sets objectives for the local SCM functions and supports the Commercial Operations at the country and regional level in order to achieve superior net profit and revenues. Responsible for setting local SCM targets in accordance with the global NTO SCM and regional Commercial Operations functions
- Responsible for fully compliant value chain (local as well as global Regulatory and Novartis rules & guidelines): QA elements such as Good Distribution Practices (GDP), HSE, Financial compliance. Liaises with the relevant departments in order to optimize cross-functional processes and projects within the Region or beyond.
- Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements (including Records Management) and continuous improvements of quality relevant processes within area of responsibility
- Supports and participates in all product-launching activities in the region. Ensures correct scenarios planning assumptions, launch organization and harmonization with supply sites
- Monitors and controls Regional SC performance based on KPIs and other information. Identifies areas for improvement in the region and countries, ensures implementation of plans for continuous performance improvement and controls sustainable implementation.
- Drive state-of-the art value chain processes such as S&BP;, VMI supply model, collaborative planning between affiliates (country organizations) and supplying plants, Warehouse & Distribution as well as life-cycle management processes (launches, transfers, changes, pruning)
- Develop and implement measures, tracking tools and benchmarks to drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes in the region
- Anticipates future SCM trends and follows latest developments in the market environment, which might affect Global/Regional SC performance. Uses them in preparation of Regional strategic/action plans I order to optimize SC performance
- Manage and control budget and expenses, and assess global/regional supply chain initiatives and programs to evaluate cost effectiveness and results
- Develop effective and strong working relationships with all Affiliates, Global NTO Supply Chain partners as well as the whole NTO Organization (local, regional, global)
- Establish empowered, direct and non-bureaucratic team and culture within the organization which thinks and acts as part of the Novartis end-to-end value chain
- Selects, trains, develops and coaches SCM experts within the region to develop top-notch SC talents, and improves SCM organizations at local and regional levels. Provides training and development planning for the local/regional associates

Minimum Requirements
- University degree in Engineering or Economics. Dedicated SCM Education (e.g. MBA or APICS certification)
- Min 10 years’ experience in supply chain, gained in a leadership role as Director / Head of Supply Chain (pharmaceuticals, food, FMCG, possibly têxtile or IT) or Director / Site Head of a Pharmaceutical / Food Operations supplying plant
- Fluent in English written and spoken, other languages are a plus
