The Role
Key Responsibilities Include
Lead day-to-day IT operations and supervise the IT team to ensure service continuity.
Manage servers and infrastructure:
Virtual machines upgrades and migrations, data backup, server monitoring and cybersecurity management.
Maintain and secure core websites and systems; conduct security assessments and implement safeguards.
Ensure security and compliance to the University policies such as Information Security and Data Management (ISDM) policy, Personal Data Protection and vulnerability assessments.
Oversee AV facilities; ensure reliability, create user guides, and provide demonstrations.
Prepare the IT sub-budget, manage procurement, and deliver technical support for seminars, workshops and events.
Qualifications And Qualities
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related discipline.
At least 8 years' solid work experience in system administration and web applications development.
Deep technical knowledge across server and infrastructure management, virtualization, operating systems, web technologies, and system administration.
Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix), security hardening, and resilience against cyber threats.
Familiarity with Moodle and online registration systems, and confidence in supporting large scale events.
Strong reliability and ability to meet deadlines under demanding circumstances.
Excellent communication skills, professional attitude, collaborative spirit, and effective working relationships.
Initiative, independence, and professionalism to take on responsibilities and handle complex tasks competently.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.
