Associate Director of Sales – Grand Hyatt Barcelona
As Associate Director of Sales at Grand Hyatt Barcelona, you will play a key leadership role in driving the hotel’s commercial success. This position combines strategic vision with operational excellence, overseeing sales initiatives across all segments while mentoring a high‑performing team. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to develop innovative strategies, maximize revenue opportunities, and strengthen the hotel’s positioning in the luxury hospitality market. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with proven expertise in sales, exceptional relationship‑building skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding results.
Sales & Business Development
* Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets across all segments.
* Actively prospect and acquire new business opportunities through direct sales, networking, and market intelligence.
* Prepare and present tailored proposals that meet client needs and uphold Hyatt’s luxury standards.
* Negotiate complex contracts to secure profitable business and long‑term partnerships.
* Represent Grand Hyatt Barcelona at major trade shows, networking events, and industry forums.
* Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and adjust strategies proactively.
* Collaborate with Marketing and Revenue teams to create integrated campaigns that optimize segmentation and profitability.
* Ensure compliance with Hyatt SOPs and sales policies in all processes.
Account Management
* Oversee key account management, ensuring strong, long‑term client relationships.
* Monitor production of top accounts and evaluate trends to maximize share and profitability.
* Maintain accurate documentation and reports in Hyatt systems, ensuring compliance with brand standards.
* Monitor account performance and implement strategies to maximize share and profitability.
* Act as the primary contact for high‑value clients, ensuring exceptional service and personalized experiences.
* Conduct professional site inspections and client entertainment activities to strengthen relationships.
Leadership & Team Collaboration
* Lead, mentor, and develop the Sales team, setting clear objectives and providing regular feedback.
* Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
* Support the Director of Sales & Marketing in guiding the department toward achieving revenue targets.
* Implement training programs and best practices to enhance team skills and operational efficiency.
* Participate in departmental meetings and assist in setting strategic goals and action plans.
Financial & Strategic Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing the annual revenue budget and marketing plan.
* Coordinate monthly revenue forecasts and ensure accuracy within established margins.
* Monitor sales expense budgets and incentive plans, ensuring compliance and timely processing.
* Prepare complete and accurate end‑of‑month reports and participate in business review meetings.
* Develop strategies to increase market share and revenue penetration when goals are not met.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in luxury hospitality sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing teams and strategic accounts.
* Languages: Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
* Expertise: Strong knowledge of sales strategies, market segmentation, and revenue optimization.
* Proven ability to lead high‑value negotiations and close complex deals.
* Leadership: Demonstrated success in team management, talent development, and fostering a high‑performance culture.
* Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building abilities.
* Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
* Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Opera PMS, Envision, Lanyon, and Agency360 preferred.
* Education: Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Hospitality Management.
* Personal Attributes: Highly proactive, results‑driven, and passionate about luxury hospitality.
