Principle/Senior RF Hardware Engineer – Space Radar Systems
A fast-growing European space company is looking for a Senior RF Hardware Engineer to support the development of next-generation satellite radar systems and high-frequency payload hardware.
This is a highly hands-on role focused on full ownership of RF hardware development, from architecture and PCB design through to bring-up, validation and optimization. The team is specifically looking for senior engineers who enjoy building real hardware and taking designs through the full lifecycle.
You’ll be working on advanced RF and radar systems within a fast-moving space environment developing next-generation satellite technology.
Responsibilities
Design and develop RF and mixed-signal hardware for satellite radar and sensing systems
Own multilayer PCB schematic capture and layout for high-frequency applications
Develop and integrate RF front-ends including filters, LNAs, mixers, converters and power stages
Perform hardware bring-up, RF testing, debugging and performance optimisation
Support EMI/EMC-aware design and signal integrity across complex RF boards
Work closely with embedded, mechanical and systems teams during integration and validation
Requirements
Strong experience in RF hardware engineering and high-frequency PCB design
Proven ownership of hardware from concept through testing and validation
Experience with RF lab equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analysers and signal generators
Strong understanding of RF systems, microwave hardware and EMI/EMC principles
Experience within aerospace, defence, radar, satellite or high-reliability environments
Proficiency with tools such as Altium, ADS, HFSS, CST or similar
Nice to Have
Experience with radar, SATCOM or phased-array systems
Experience with X-band, Ku-band or Ka-band hardware
Familiarity with environmental testing and space-grade electronics
Background in RF payloads or satellite communication systems
