The Mechanical Engineer (ME) is a key role within the Mechanical Engineering development process, responsible for leading and executing mechanical design activities across assigned projects throughout the full lifecycle, from RFQ/RFI and requirements definition through design release and production support.

This role is responsible for defining the mechanical architecture, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, and delivering robust, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions aligned with project timelines.

Main Responsibilities

Requirements Engineering
\n
- Manage the full mechanical requirements lifecycle.
- Define, analyze, and clarify mechanical requirements with stakeholders.
- Resolve ambiguities in technical requirements through engineering discussions.
- Select appropriate materials and components according to mechanical specifications.
- Ensure implementation of customer and internal requirements before each design freeze milestone.
- Identify and escalate technical risks to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Review systemic technical issues impacting the project.
Design & Implementation\n
- Develop mechanical design solutions aligned with requirements, standards, and internal guidelines.
- Own and maintain the Mechanical Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Ensure timely delivery of mechanical outputs (BOMs, simulations, documentation, etc.).
- Define and coordinate engineering analyses such as FEA, thermal analysis, and design reviews.
- Ensure cost-optimized design and control deviations from target cost.
- Support design-to-cost initiatives and contribute to value engineering activities.
- Participate in concept and design reviews across development phases (DV, PV, production).
- Collaborate closely with suppliers and system architects to ensure up-to-date technical solutions.
- Initiate and participate in technical design reviews with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Support DFMEA activities and cross-functional engineering reviews.
- Evaluate feasibility of engineering changes and support change management processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design guidelines and engineering best practices.
- Review and approve technical drawings ensuring consistency and compliance.
- Support benchmarking activities and integration of innovative ideas.
- Assist in reviewing documentation for production part approval processes (PPAP).
Gate Review, Problem Solving & Release\n
- Track and manage open technical issues and ensure proper resolution.
- Support problem resolution and root cause analysis activities.
- Participate in change management processes (engineering changes, requests, and modifications).
- Ensure mechanical readiness for project gate reviews and releases.
Mechanical Verification\n
- Support verification activities including DV/PV testing.
- Review and validate test results and engineering reports.
- Ensure mitigation of identified design or test failures.
- Support prototype evaluation and initial sample reviews.
- Contribute to thermal and system-level analysis in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Technical Skills\n
- Mechanical design of components and systems.
- Materials selection and application in engineering design.
- Thermodynamics and heat transfer principles.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural validation.
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) understanding for design review.
