General Responsibility We are looking for a Financial Controller – to support financial performance management across Northern Europe.
Based on-site in Madrid and reporting to the FP& A Manager, this role will drive high-quality financial planning, reporting and business insights, ensuring accurate performance tracking and supporting decision-making across the Generics organization.
Specific Responsibilities Own and coordinate the planning cycle for the region (budget, forecast updates, long-range planning where applicable).
Prepare and deliver monthly management reporting packs (P& L, OPEX, KPIs), ensuring accuracy, timeliness and clarity.
Perform variance analysis vs.
budget/forecast/prior year;
identify drivers and provide actionable recommendations.
Act as a finance business partner for Northern Europe stakeholders, supporting performance reviews and commercial/operational initiatives.
Support month-end activities from a controlling perspective, liaising with accounting teams to ensure robust accruals and correct performance recognition.
Maintain and improve financial models, dashboards and reporting automation using SAP, SAP BPC and Power BI.
Ensure consistent application of internal controlling standards and contribute to continuous improvement of processes and data quality.
Support ad-hoc analyses (profitability, cost efficiency, scenario analysis) as required by management.
Requirements and personal skills Minimum 4 years of experience in Big 4 and/or the pharmaceutical industry;
experience in generic pharma is strongly preferred.
Solid controlling/FP& A background with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced user of MS Office (especially Excel).
Hands-on experience with SAP, SAP BPC and Power BI.
High level of English (professional fluency).
Nordic languages are not required but a plus.
Strong stakeholder management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
