My client is building a multidisciplinary Architecture team to define and deliver the future architecture model that will power their business ambitions. Right now, they are looking for a hands-on Systems Architect to strengthen our architecture capability and bring deep expertise in on-prem environments, while building the bridge toward future cloud adoption.
You’ll be joining the Architecture team in either Malaga OR Madrid, a highly diverse and collaborative group working across enterprise IT, infrastructure, databases, AI, security, and DevOps. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of systems architecture projects, partner with Principal Engineers, and be the go-to voice for infrastructure strategy across the organisation.

What you’ll do
* Act as the SME for Systems Architecture, designing, documenting, and evolving enterprise-grade solutions.
* Lead PoCs and R&D on emerging tech to support business initiatives and improve efficiency.
* Work hands-on with Linux, virtualisation, orchestration, and networking to design resilient infrastructure.
* Collaborate with Principal Engineers to tackle operational challenges, improve performance, and propose executable strategies.
* Be a trusted advisor across IT and business stakeholders—articulating complex solutions clearly at every level.
* Contribute to the Architecture Centre of Excellence, shaping technical strategy and championing best practice.
What they are looking for
Must-haves:
* Hands-on experience with on-prem data centres, virtualisation, and orchestration.
* Understanding of containers, networking, and security concepts .
* Familiarity with OpenStack, Kubernetes, IaC (Terraform, Ansible), and observability tools.
* Ability to manage complexity with incomplete information and still deliver clear, actionable designs.
* Stakeholder management skills: you can switch context quickly and build trusted relationships across a multicultural organisation.
Nice-to-haves:
* Experience with Ansible, automation, and scripting (Python, Bash, Go, PowerShell).
* Familiarity with SDS (Ceph), IAM solutions, and DevOps tooling.
* Cloud concepts, especially AWS/Azure/GCP, for future adoption.
