Job purpose
Reporting to the Business Process Risk Team Lead, you will support the process of assessing an organization’s preparedness and making recommendations to enhance recovery time after natural disasters or emergencies that could lead to information loss or operational disruptions.
The position is expected to work with internal stakeholders and take a support role in analysing key risks, establish regular dialogue between risk and control owners to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance the business continuity managed system.
Main Responsibilities
* Designing and developing comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery plans tailored to the organization’s needs.
* Coordinating with various departments to ensure business continuity plans are integrated into all facets of the organization.
* Organizing and leading business continuity training and exercises for employees to ensure plan effectiveness and preparedness.
* Establishing clear communication channels and protocols for use during a disruption to maintain information flow.
* Monitoring and reporting on potential risks, incidents, and business continuity plan activations to senior management.
* Regularly reviewing and updating business continuity plans to reflect changing organizational needs and external environments.
* Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards related to business continuity and disaster recovery.
* Collaborating with IT departments to ensure proper data backup, system recovery, and cybersecurity measures are in place.
* Managing the response to actual disruptions, including activation of the business continuity plan and coordination of recovery efforts.
Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
* Bachelor’s within Information Systems, Information/Cyber Security, Finance, Economics or other relevant study.
* Experience within a business focussed role:
o Business Continuity Management System Implementation
o Solving business challenges and improving processes.
o Preparing and supporting workshops & interviews, to understand the business process, products and services.
o Data analysis to inform decision-making processes, contributing to data-driven strategic insights.
o Ability to grasp the key functional processes and resources within the organization.
* Work experience in a professional environment preferred, including:
o Demonstrated planning and problem-solving skills.
o Demonstrated experience working on activities related to process improvements.
o Demonstrated experience translating functional requirements to small activities.
o Experience organizing and carrying out risk assessment and compliance projects.
o Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English.
o Travel availability.
Preferred qualifications / Personal Characteristics
* Proficient with MS Office, project management, and at least one GRC tool (recommended).
* Familiarity with auditing, monitoring, controlling, and process assessment frameworks.
* ISO 22301 Lead Implementer.
